Welcome to GDCS!!!

Founded in 1995, the Greater Dayton Chinese School (GDCS) is a non-for-profit educational organization. The goal of the GDCS is to satisfy the increasing need for learning simplified Chinese and Pinyin in the Greater Dayton area, to promote communication and mutual understanding between Chinese and western cultures, and to help the younger generation preserve their Chinese heritage. We are proud to be a member of Chinese School Association in the United States (CSAUS) .

Currently, there are twelve language classes with various levels for Chinese-speaking and non-Chinese speaking families, including a new Intermediate Conversation Class and an Adult Class. The classes meet once a week on Sunday afternoon from 1:30-4:30 pm at the Jesse Philips Humanities Center on the campus of University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. The first two hours are devoted to formal Chinese teaching and the last hour is for Chinese culture enrichment activities, such as dancing, Chinese art, and martial arts. The GDCS actively participates in various local community activities and proudly contributes to the well being of the Greater Dayton community.
